A castle has stood on the banks of the Arun, dominating the horizon at Arundel, for almost 1,000 years.
Built to demonstrate the power of the Norman conquerors of 1066, the castle has grown, been adapted and improved over the centuries and is a time capsule demonstrating the life of the English nobility through the centuries.
The popular medieval-themed days in the grounds of the castle and gardens draw crowds of thousands every year to enjoy its displays of jousting, hawking and history and heritage talks.
