In the heart of the Sussex countryside sits the world-famous Glyndebourne opera house, where tens of thousands of people enjoy celebrated performances every year.
From May to August, the Glyndebourne Festival features performances in a state-of-the-art indoor auditorium, with revellers settling down to picnics in its manicured gardens.
Its learning and engagement department also runs projects to encourage more people into loving opera, such as its scheme to develop female composers and a youth opera featuring young local performers, all from its site near Lewes.
