Ricardo logoInternational strategic engineering and environmental consultancy Ricardo has its global headquarters in Shoreham, with innovation, research and problem-solving at the heart of everything it does.

Founded in 1915 by Sir Harry Ricardo and based in Shoreham since 1919, the business now employs around 700 engineers, technicians and support staff at its HQ alone.

Ricardo designs and develops engines, motors, generators and fuel cell systems for passenger and commercial vehicles as well as other sectors including the rail, defence and motorsport industries.

The Shoreham site hosts a number of test cells, the company’s emissions research centre, niche engine assembly line and the Ricardo centenary innovation centre.

And in line with Greater Brighton’s commitment to driving sustainability in the region, Ricardo continues to follow its founding ethos – to help society to maximise efficiency and eliminate waste.
